It also highlights other country hits as well as gospel and bluegrass.
James Garrett, who developed and performs in the
successful tribute show to John Denver, also playing at the Lil
Opry Theatre in the IMAX Entertainment Complex, put together this
musical tribute of Country Music Legend's George Strait.
James insists on quality and he is precise in the
performance of every song he sings. The intimacy of the Little

If you like George Strait, Patsy Cline and country music, you will love this show. James Garrett, star of The John Denver Tribute Show, once again gives us a feel for one of America’s favorite performers.
James offers a well-rounded selection of George’s numerous hits from Write This Down to The Chair and Amarillo By Morning. He has a homey way of letting us into his experiences in the entertainment world. He adds glimpses of George as he talks about each song.
Karina Glaspy joins him with a tribute to Patsy Cline. Country music lovers will know and appreciate every song. She covers many of Patsy’s famous hits. Both her voice and style do justice to each of them.
Randy Plummer, long-time Branson performer and bass player, delights audiences with his music and his personality. Jim Glaspy shares his musical expertise on the dobro, banjo, and guitar. Both are outstanding musicians and integral parts of the show as musicians and singers.
With its small, intimate setting, the theater allows the performers to freely interact with the audience. Add the natural charm of James Garrett and the variety of musical selections, and the show entertains. It’s a show with no intermission but the last song comes before you are ready for it.
Specialty fun songs include Poor Boy Boogie and Dueling Banjos. With the diversity of talent and the personalities of the performers, the audience never knows what’s in store next.
James Garrett and his band headline the award-winning John Denver Tribute Morning Show at 10:00 am. You can catch Strait Country at 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday.
George Strait Country, that is, as performed by James Garrett and company!! Add to the musical mix a little bluegrass and a little gospel, and this promises to be a recipe for another hit show at the IMAX Little Opry Theatre!!
The Little Opry is a very intimate theatre, tucked away in back and to the right of the ticket booth area. If you sit on the front row, you can put your feet up on the stage or reach out and shake each performer’s hand. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house and they’re comfortable; the lighting and sound are wonderful; and everyone at the theatre is friendly and welcoming. It’s true, there are so many things to fill your time at the IMAX and it could be your one-stop for an entire day, but I especially love the live shows!
Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, George Strait, has fans everywhere including on-line chat forums and visitors to Branson, MO. James Garrett proved he is on top of what Branson visitors are looking for when he put the new Strait Country show together. This show is a must for George Strait fans as it features many of his #1 hits over the last 20 years. It also highlights other country hits as well as gospel and bluegrass.
Following an award-winning first season with the John Denver Tribute Show, which he still performs this year; James appears to have another hit show on his hands judging by the audience reaction and my own personal enjoyment. The sizeable crowd attending the show’s debut on 4 April 2008 could all be seen mouthing the words to all the George Straight songs. Like everything he does, James insists on quality and he is precise in the performance of every song he sings. The intimacy of the Little Opry Theater makes audience members feel like they are getting a private performance from their favorite stars. Even from the last row you feel like you could just reach out and touch the strings on the instruments.

My husband and I absolutely fell in love with
James Garrett!
We went in expecting a mediocre performance and
were blown away by how good he was and his band. He did an outstanding
job of impersonating George Strait and his Gospel songs touched
our heart.
We even decided to stay a day later in Branson
so we could come back and see his "Tribute to John Denver"
show, which we loved. We bought his "Acoustic Praise"
album and are planning on playing it at our church next Sunday.
We loved Randy on his bass and Jim on his dobro.
We saw several big shows in big arenas while we
were in Branson but we loved James' shows even better because
he is just such a good entertainer who puts his heart into his
craft.

I finally decided to check out the Strait Country
show since I had enjoyed the Denver tribute so much.
It was a great show as well with the same core
band, with the addition of Karina Glaspy singing Patsy Cline.
The show was formatted much like the John Denver show and was
just as enjoyable. Jim Glaspy was great playing lead on the
George Strait songs and singing great bluegrass music. His wife,
Karina, sang Patsy Cline as well as I've heard. James Garrett
was great at conducting the show as usual, with his great comic
timing and singing of George Strait songs. One of my favorite
bits was the Poor Boy Boogie, a song with Jim Glaspy on the
washboard, Randy Plummer on the wooden spoons and James Garrett
playing the hand bone.
You have to see this song in person, as it is
hard to explain but it's great fun. I think this show should
be considered for Best Matinee.
