Description:

2009 & 2010 FAME (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) “Western Music Artist of the Year” award winner, Roy Rogers Jr., puts on a show sure to please audiences from the youngest cowpokes to their grandparents! Roy Jr. performs the 10am live show at his new location in 2010, the Mickey Gilley Theatre in Branson, MO.

Dusty's all new High Riders band represents five of the most talented, versatile musicians in Branson. The show's new sound features rich, three part male harmonies reminiscent of the Sons of the Pioneers. The show features classic cowboy western music along with moving tributes to the silver screen cowboys, King of the Cowboys, and the Veterans. A few bluegrass numbers have been added to this year's show as well. Dusty surprises the audiences with his ability to yodel in the tradition of his father, and it's always a crowd favorite when he shares his personal stories of growing up with Roy and Dale as only Dusty can do.

To the delight of the fans, Dustin Roy Rogers - son to Dusty and grandson to Roy - joins his father on stage again in 2010 singing even more songs in the show. Dustin sounds and looks very much like his grandpa when Roy rode the silver screen back in the 1930s and '40s. Fans are deeply touched by the inspirational number Dustin performs in honor of his Grandma Dale.

Roy Rogers Jr. has appeared at many major rodeos, state fairs, conventions, concert halls, and dinner houses throughout the U.S. and Canada. In 2003 & 2004, he had the distinct pleasure to perform at the esteemed Carnegie Hall in New York. Most recently, Dusty has performed for the past seven years in his own theater in Branson. In addition to singing, Dusty has appeared in movies and on television, disc-jockeyed on the radio, owned his own construction company, and authored a book, “Growing Up With Roy and Dale.”

Dusty receives many comments from fans saying how hard it must be for him to stand in Roy's shadow. Dusty quickly responds, “As Roy's son, it is not my job to stand in my father's shadow; but it is my job to lengthen it.” Experience the Roy Rogers Jr. Show and see for yourself why Dusty was named “Western Music Artist of the Year” for the past two years. You will also experience first-hand how the legacy of Roy Rogers continues in the live performances of his son and grandson.

We were privileged to be at the Roy Rogers, Jr and the High Riders show on Saturday afternoon, the 19th of September 2009. This show is the best in Western music and entertainment. I would have no problem taking my grandchildren to see it and I recommend it to everyone. The music is wonderful and the musicians very talented. We enjoyed many old favorite western songs and new ones. We learned the history of some of the songs and who wrote them and I must admit it was fascinating to know. Roy Rogers, Jr and his son Dustin do a wonderful job of promoting values, ethics and morals in this show and passing on the legacy of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
