Mickey Gilley Theater
I have loved listening to Mickey Gilley for decades
and was thrilled to finally get to see him. In spite of his
physical limitations due to a serious fall two years ago, Mickey
and his group put on a tremendous show.
We heard old favorites we love and miss hearing
on the radio. Mickey still has a velvety voice and some great
dance moves that I know must have been painful for him. I wish
I had seen him live sooner since he currently can't play piano,
but I fully intend to go to future shows, if only to swoon to
his voice and laugh at the jokes.
An added bonus was getting to meet Mickey after
the show and chat with him awhile. His fans love him and he
seems to truly reciprocate their affection. One of his "guys"
told us Mickey would sit and talk to his fans all night if they
let him.
Mickey is a true performing legend and his voice
is as strong as ever. I, for one, will be back to see him again!
