Description

Are you ready to slick back your hair & let your ponytails bounce?  Then it's time to shake, rattle, and roll with “50’s At The Hop”!  “You're The Boss” when the Hoppettes, the Dreamdates, and the Rockin’ Hop Band “Rip It Up” with over 50 songs!

From the opening number to the closing finale, you'll be dancing in the aisles and singing along in a brand new theater!  Whether you came of age during the 50’s or heard your mom & dad singing these songs, “50’s At The Hop” perfectly creates the thrilling 50’s fun of rock-n-roll’s beginnings.  Its easy to see why this rousing 50’s show has been named Show of the Year!

The spirited entertainers take you to the Hop where the award-winning cast flawlessly captures the playfulness in the 50’s music.  They're having fun as they brilliantly entertain & so are you!

The Hoppettes bring home the fun of “Hound Dog”, “Just One Look”, “My Special Angel” & more. Their special audience participation song, “He’s A Rebel”, is a smash.  All of the harmonies of the Hoppettes and their Dreamdates are crowd-pleasers. And the Dreamdates have incredible voices (they're cute too!) as they deliver on songs like “There Goes My Baby”, “Shop Around” “Little Egypt”, “Young Blood”, and many more.

The “50’s At The Hop” band is one of the most diverse and talented bands in Branson.  These guys nail every song & make life exciting.  When Marvin Short, the colorful sax player, does a little “Georgia” you'll know why his hair stands on end...and yours will too!  The entire 50’s Band rocks the socks off everyone in the house.

If you're searchin’ for fun, take a trip with Branson’s Hottest Show, where it's your party and you can rock around the clock!  The music’s fun and it's totally sweet to slip back to an era when hooting and hollering at a concert was hip.  The “50’s At The Hop” show is fun.

I'm a 47 year old man, my wife is 51. This was our 1st Branson visit. We ended up attending 10 shows and this show was possibly the best in quality and enjoyment for both of us. The live band is excellent.

First of all, this is really a late '50's & early 60's show. Some of the songs in the show did date beyond 12/31/59. But, the audience did not mind at all. The band was excellent. The performers, choreography and costuming were a little better than the #1 Hits of the 60's.

This show is generally a bunch of medleys grouped around themes. This show had more songs with lead singers or duets and fully completed more songs than 60's did. We purchased 3 cd's. This is the only show to accomplish selling us 3 discs.

The sax player is apparently Branson's "Sax Player of the Year". I believe it. He is really good on the sax, plays guitar, adds comic relief to the show and has the only "interactive hair-doo" that I saw on a Branson stage. I'll leave it to your imagination, but that man has amazing hair!

The 50's Doo-Wop was helped by a singer who they said has the Guiness Record for L O W voice range. He could really do those low notes!

50s At The Hop is a rocking good time.  We felt just like we stumbled into a Sox Hop...there was even a "Passion Pit" where we could slow dance with our Sweeties.

Ray Anthony aka Richie Valens is a spectacular new addition to 50s.  He, alone, is worth the price of your Show ticket.  He is loaded with all the confidence and talent to have the audience begging for more. The song choices were excellent.  The live Band and "Marvelous Marvin created lots of musical magic. We are already planning to return to see 50s At The Hop again, soon!

This show has some major changes this year.  First, there is a different theatre.  But some of our favorites are no longer with the show.  We usually see this show several times a year.  Thank goodness, Marvelous Marvin Short is still with the show.  He is a show all by himself. It will take some time to get use to some of the others being gone.

Stephanie is a great addition and really seems to enjoy herself.  I hope they go back to the 4 couple setup.  It really filled the stage to see that many rockin’ and boppin’.  If you are seeing it for the first time, I am sure you will enjoy it, but if you are regular like we have been, be ready to wonder where you favorites have gone.
