Don’t be surprised if you find yourself engaged in conversation with people you meet for the very first time here. It will seem only natural as you wait for the curtain to rise; settling into comfortable seats, with a perfect view of the stage. Branson is a friendly and welcoming place to visit and the atmosphere lends itself to such an exchange. The Imaginary Theater itself has an intimate setting and, as the name implies, offers several opportunities for laughter and amazement. For instance, in the same locale you will find Justin Flom, who received the People’s Choice Award for 2007, conjuring up stunning and intimate magic. Bob Nelson dishes up his own brand of humor during his Comedy Show presentation. Viewing special, contemporary or seasonal exhibits in the Museum and Gallery of American History is also a delightful option as you enter the building.
My focus here, however, is to tell you about the DIVAS. They have been in show biz for 20 years, and it shows (if you’ll pardon the pun). This 90 minute non-stop entertainment is definitely a must see. In fact, I probably “must see” it again. Sharing everything from the past to the present with family history in photos and antidotes, an open and humorous afternoon is offered by these talented women. It is obvious that they are there to entertain you, as they give their all, and it works.
Sharing their style and mannerisms will speak volumes about their philosophy of life. “Life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself to be the person you are destined to be.” I liked that statement of fact. It rings true for everyone. They are three different personalities in harmony with each other and the folks sitting in the audience. They have been long-time friends and “Branson Stage Veterans.” Their resumes stretch almost as long as the famous “76 Strip” itself. Singing alone, they are magnificent. Together in harmony, it will amaze you.
Janice Copeland has graced the stage with a host of zany characters during her sojourns with the likes of Ray Stevens, Pierce Arrow, Andy Williams, Jim Stafford or the Roy Clark shows. She is the “GRAND POOHBA DIVA” with a big voice and true comedic talent.
Cindi Barr, known as the “DITSY DIVA,” learned the fine art of singing Pop and Big Band music thru her years with the 70’s Music Show and others. She may not know how to dance, but she rides a mean pair of roller skates and can yodel with the best of them.
Michele Sevryn, performing some cool Dixie Blues, is the resident ‘DANCING DIVA” of the troupe. She has sung and danced her way across the USA performing in shows like the Golden Girls and Magic of The Top Dogs.
The show offers laughter, tears, inspiration, patriotism and downright hilarious fun. Be sure to put the DIVAS on your list of “must see” entertainment. This only all female cast in Branson will encourage you to always pursue your dreams and you will part with a FEEL-GOOD experience. Let me encourage you to visit and enjoy all that Branson has to offer.
