COME TOGETHER with the Liverpool Legends

April 10, 2009

COME TOGETHER….and join the party at the Starlite Theatre with the Liverpool Legends!!

“One and one and one is three,” as the song goes……..now, add one more because a brand new fourth has very recently been added to the Liverpool Legends!  His name is Bob Beahon, and he is their “new Paul!”  Welcome to Branson, Bob!

I was more than a little bit anxious to see whom it was Louise Harrison picked to fill Paul’s space onstage.  Great job, Louise  –  I was pleasantly surprised.  I think you all will be, too!

The guys have stepped up the list of songs and every song I heard was a favorite of mine – the very first time this has really happened.  The first song, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” started the show.

The “new Paul” was showcased almost immediately with “Till There Was You.”  He did a superb job playing the bass left-handed, when in actuality he is right-handed!  How do they do that??  He was also featured in “Yesterday,” “Get Back,” and on the piano with “Hey Jude.”  I really liked his “Paul” screams – hey, you girls know what I mean, right??  Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's going to fill the "cute one's" shoes just fine!

George (Marty) played and sang “Do You Want to Know a Secret?” and I can’t help but melt every time he steps out to do one of his outstanding guitar solos – there is so much talent in what he does – and that goes for all of them.  Every time Marty comes out and does “Something,” after the George video plays, I confess, I pretty much lose it.  What a beautiful song by George Harrison!  And what a tribute to his memory, Marty!  You outdid yourself on the guitar solo – FABulous!

Kevin (John) is AMAZING – John Lennon must be transported into Kevin's body from somewhere during every show.  He acts, sings and plays the part to the hilt – well done, Kevin!  He, too, knows that guitar!  Wow!  I think my favorite song Kevin does has to be “Come Together” – hey, we know the lyrics don’t make much sense, but the song is just an old and groovy song that always will be – groovy and old, that is!!!  Did that make sense?

Then there is the one who gets the most applause – Ringo!!  Greg is so right for the part, it’s scary!!  His Beatle beat is unbeatable!  He sings “Yellow Submarine” with bubbles floating everywhere, and “A Little Help From My Friends,” just like the originals – and, of course, he has the greatest props – they’ll tell you about them!  Greg has a drum solo during the last song that knocks you out of your seat, if you’re still in it by then!  Go to the show and you’ll find out what I mean!

Bob Dobro backs the band on keyboard magnificently and, as usual, “A Day In The Life” ends with the monster glissando's  – it’s just incredible and unreal how much it sounds like a real 40-piece orchestra!!  Kevin and Bob B. share the song lyrics – it couldn’t be any better than the real thing either……they’ve got it down!  Really!

Louise makes everyone sit up and listen when she tells her memorable stories about life with her younger Beatle brother, George.  You get to ask questions, too – so be prepared when you go and you just might learn a Beatle tidbit you never knew before!!  And, meeting a real-life Beatle sister in person after the show is a super treat!!

The guys are in the lobby after the show for autographs and pictures, too – don’t miss the opportunity to meet them in person.  Be sure and welcome Bob to Branson, too!

Thanks, guys, for working so hard and making your show one that everyone is still talking about everywhere I go – ‘cause I’m always telling ‘em about ya!!
